The following student scholarship announcements are for high school students seeking to attend college in the State of Florida who are residents of Seminole County and live in Oviedo,FL or Winter Springs, FL USA. This listing has been compiled from the article “Money on The Table” by Peter Reilly in the Oviedo-Winter Springs Life Magazine, January/February 2015 Issue.

Kiwanis Club of Oviedo-Winter Springs offers four or five scholarships ranging from $500 to $750 each. High school seniors from Oviedo High School, Trinity Prep, and Winter Springs High School are eligible to apply. The deadline to apply is MARCH. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, written essay, official high school transcript, letter of acceptance from a college, and three letters of recommendation. GFWC Oviedo Woman’s Club offers scholarship awards ranging from $2,000 to $3,000 each for a total of $14,000. Also awards of two $2,000 scholarships to adult women who are going back to school. Male and female high school seniors at Oviedo High School and Hagerty High School are eligible to apply. The deadline to apply is MARCH 1. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0, two letters of recommendation, have to take part in an interview, and must write an essay outlining future academic and career goals. Krewe of Leaders offers $2,500 scholarships for Seminole County high school seniors who are majoring in medical fields, performing arts, or hospitality. The deadline to apply is FEBRUARY. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA, 25 hours of volunteerism, SAT/ACT scores, class rank, personal recommendations, official high school transcript, and write a 300-word essay. Rotary Club of Oviedo offers a $1,000 scholarship annually for four years for high school seniors from Oviedo High School. Applicants must attend a college in the State of Florida. The deadline to apply is APRIL. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA annually and students will be asked to discuss the Rotary’s vision/mission. Preference is given to students with community service. Oviedo Historical Society offers a $500 scholarship for each school. High school seniors from Oviedo High School and Hagerty High School are eligible to apply. The deadline to apply is LAST WEEK OF MARCH. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, an interest in history and accomplishment in the subject is preferred but not mandatory. Oviedo Businesswomen’s Network: Julie Eason Smith, P.A. Memorial Scholarship offers a pair of $2,000 scholarships. Female high school seniors from Oviedo High School, Hagerty High School, Winter Springs High School, or The Master’s Academy who plan to major in business are eligible to apply. Only two scholarships are awarded. The deadline to apply is FEBRUARY 3RD. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, 25 hours of community service, three letters of recommendation, official high school transcripts, SAT scores, class rank, write a 600 word essay, and take part in a 30-minute interview. Kim Coburn RE/MAX Town & Country Realty offers two $500 scholarships. One for Oviedo High School and one for Winter Springs High School. Current juniors and seniors from either school are eligible to apply. The deadline to apply is MAY. Applicants must maintain a 4.0 GPA or higher during the entire school year or show a GPA improvement from the fall semester to the spring. Oviedo-Winter Springs Optimist Club offers a $2,500 scholarship to Seminole County high school students under the age of 19. The deadline to apply is FEBRUARY. Oviedo Winter Springs Lions Club offers three $1,000 scholarships for book money. Scholarships are awarded directly to students, not the schools. High school seniors from Oviedo High School, Hagerty High School, and Winter Springs High School are eligible to apply. The deadline to apply is MID-MARCH. Applicants must write an essay.
